A trip where Catamarca is no longer an unknown destination but a transforming experience. From the first meeting with your group and local guide, everything changes pace: typical food, landscapes that seem to be from another planet and endless emotions.

I toured the Adobe Routepractice sandboarding in Saujilrelax in the Fiambalá Hot Springsexplore the surreal Pumice Stone Fieldand discovered the largest volcanic caldera in the world in the Galan Volcano.

The adventure culminates at an altitude of more than 4,500 meters above sea level, in front of the impressive Pissis Balcony. A complete, deep and authentic journey that you will never forget.

Day 1 - Welcome + Adobe Route

11:00 h (approx.): Departure from SFVC (downtown hotel or airport). 18:00 h (approx.): Arrival in Tinogasta and accommodation in assigned hotel. Description: After reception, we start our trip to Tinogasta (3:30 h approx.) crossing the foothills along National Route 60. On the way we explore the 3 highlights of the Adobe Route, a heritage circuit where centuries-old chapels, oratories and colonial adobe houses reveal the living history of western Catamarca. We visit places like El Puesto, La Falda and Anillaco, framed by a natural environment that mixes desert, mountains and silence. Overnight at assigned hotel. TINOGASTA

Day 2 - Dunes and Hot Springs of Fiambalá

08:00 h (approx.): Departure from Tinogasta. 18:00 h (approx.): Return to assigned hotel in Tinogasta. Description: We travel to the stunning Taton Desert, where some of the highest dunes in the world are found. In the Saujil Dunes, we enjoy a fun sandboarding experience, surrounded by an incredible natural environment. Then, we visited the Fiambalá Hot Springs, a thermal complex nestled in the mountain with natural stone pools and waters ranging from 28°C to 51°C, ideal to relax body and mind. Day 3 - 4×4 crossing to Pissis Balcony

07:30 h (approx.): Departure from the hotel in Tinogasta. 17:00 h (approx.): Return to the hotel in Tinogasta. Description: We enter the Seismic Route, home to some of the highest volcanoes in the world. Through a 4×4 crossing, we reach the Pissis Balcony, a natural viewpoint at 4,550 m above sea level, from where we can contemplate Mount Pissis: the highest inactive volcano on the planet (6,792 m). On the way, we cross high Andean lagoons, salt flats and landscapes that seem to be from another world, with the possibility of spotting vicuñas, flamingos and other Andean species. An experience of altitude, adventure and extreme beauty. Overnight at assigned hotel. TINOGASTA

Day 4 - Pumice Stone Field

08:00 h (approx.): Departure from Tinogasta. 19:00 h (approx.): Arrival to Antofagasta de la Sierra. Description: Departure to the Puna Catamarca to experience one of the most impressive treks in the region. The Pumice Stone Field is a unique landscape in the world: thousands of white and pink formations sculpted by the force of ancient volcanoes and wind. Throughout the 4×4 tour we cross salt flats, deserts and volcanoes that offer unreal postcards. An unforgettable experience in the high mountains. Overnight at assigned hotel. Day 5 - Antofalla Salt Flat

08:00 h (approx.): Departure from Antofagasta de la Sierra. 17:00 h (approx.): Return to Antofagasta de la Sierra. Description: We venture through the Catamarca puna towards the impressive Antofalla Salt Flat, the longest in the world, with more than 150 km of extension. The tour takes us through extreme and silent high altitude landscapes, unique for its beauty. We visit the Laguna Colorada, the amazing Ojos de Campo (three small lagoons of different colors) and the small town of Antofalla, a native community located at 3,900 meters above sea level. The visit to Botijuela, where there is an active geyser, can be included during the excursion, depending on weather conditions and the guide's decision. Overnight at assigned hotel. Day 6 - Galán Volcano

08:00 h (approx.): Departure from Antofagasta de la Sierra. 18:00 h (approx.): Arrival to Belén. Description: Departure to Galán Volcano, owner of one of the largest volcanic calderas on the planet. A journey through imposing landscapes that seem to be from another world. We enter the crater and visit the serene Laguna Diamante, surrounded by volcanic walls, and observe the active fumaroles, which spring from the ground as signs of ancestral life. We also explore the Laguna Grande, habitat of Andean flamingos and other migratory birds. A powerful tour, high and silent, showing the wild immensity of the Catamarca Puna. Overnight at assigned hotel. BELÉN

Day 7 - Arañitas Hilanderas and Ruins of El Shincal

09:00 h (approx.): Departure from Bethlehem. 17:00 h (approx.): End of the tour. Description: We start with a visit to the Arañitas Hilanderas cooperative, where a group of women artisans keep alive the traditional techniques of spinning and weaving on looms. An intimate and authentic experience with the textile soul of Catamarca. Then we explore the imposing ruins of El Shincal de Quimivil, in the town of Londres. This archaeological site was one of the main capitals of the Inca Empire in the south of the continent. We walk among ceremonial structures, deposits and the classic ushnu, from where we contemplate the ancestral environment of the valley. Overnight at hotel in SFVC or transfer to SFVC airport.
